Captivating, surreal and elegant, Mammal Hands third album, Shadow Work draws on otherworldly jazz, north Indian, folk and classical music to make something incomparably their own. Recorded at 80 Hertz Studios in Manchester, it is the aftereffect of year and a half of concentrated touring and composing sessions. The energy from their elating live shows has transferred itself into the music but there is a calm intelligent side to this record, giving it an extended emotional range that brings the audience profoundly into Mammal Hands soundscape.
